Rejected. International, FA, but I knew it. Not disappointed at all.

Rejected. And agreed, feathers. I’m definitely terrified >_<

waitlisted…its ok
i didnt even think i was gonna get a shot at all!!

waitlisted

waitlisted but pretty satisfied with that.
only 450 are accepted in the first place so i feel like waitlisted is still a big deal.
any idea what the chances are if you stay on the waitlist?

Rejected. International applicant.

Disappointed? Yes
Surprised? Nope.

On another thread someone said in an earlier year they had 500 waitlist offers, 100 took it, and only 2 got in. So think of it as a consolation prize and that’s it.

Rejected. Oddly enough, I’m not sad or anything. I guess I saw it coming. Ohhhh well. Everything happens for a reason, right?

“any idea what the chances are if you stay on the waitlist?”

It varies, honestly, from year to year.

In my cycle, ~25 students were admitted off the waitlist, including me.

It will depend on how many accepted students enroll.

Not impossible, but it depends on luck and what the admission committee is looking for in rounding out the class.

I notice that Amherst had a 38% enrollment (accepted to matriculate %) last year, which means they had to have accepted 1,100 kids last year, and of those only 38% or 450 enrolled.

Does anyone know how many students were accepted this year? It seems like more than usual are being waitlisted this year.

Waitlisted…sad, by pleasantly surprised, if that makes sense. I doubt I’ll be taking a spot, though, unless I decide suddenly that I really don’t like Northwestern or something

waitlisted oh well

Accepted and ABSOLUTELY floored, shocked, speechless, stunned… I haven’t had the pleasant chance to visit yet but I will hopefully be able to attend the Admitted Students event. I’M STILL FLOORED. Be back later when my jaw retires from it’s gaping position…

"It seems like more than usual are being waitlisted this year. "

It seems like that every year. The College Confidential cohort is likely stronger and more distinguished than the typical pool, so acceptances/denials/waitlists of members shouldn’t be used to generalize about how the overall applicant pool did.

Waitlsted. Oh well.

I liked Amherst, but it’s not the end of the world. I’m grateful that I have other options to choose from.

There was a ~10% acceptance rate this year, according to an admissions rep. Great job to those who were accepted, and to those who weren’t know that it wasn’t because of a personal flaw.

Waitlisted. 2 waitlists so far. Sucks.

Dreading April 1 now.

waitlisted.

ACCEPTED
I’m thrilled. It’s awesome. It will be hard to choose between Amherst and U of Chicago and we’ll see what happens on 4/1.
