I’ve used Chegg for nearly two years. I’ve never had a problem regarding the shipping or the condition of the texts that I order. In fact, most of the texts are in “almost new” or very good condition! I love that I save loads of money as well (and I get a tree planted, haha!).

i have used them twice now, and despite what others are posting they are fast, i received my books in 3 days!

the only issue i have with chegg now is they are no longer the cheapest, and actually they can be a complete rip off, i did find this site that allows you to search for your book, it shows you all the different rental offers and even shows you if buying it would be cheaper! you guys should check it out

[Class Alert - College Textbook Search - New, Used, International and Rental](http://myclassalert.com/books)

I’ve never used Chegg, because the book is almost always sold somewhere else brand new for less money.

For those of you who have had a positive experience, you have probably never had to call customer service. I was late one day, ONLY ONE DAY, to return my books because I had to fly out to Arizona for a family emergency, so I wasn’t thinking about the 3 books that costed about 150 to rent. The next day, I was charged with no warning. They charged $450 to my credit card, FULL RETAIL price for the books when they were beat up and scratched and written all over. I called customer service and they couldn’t help me, and they WILL NOT allow you to speak with a manager just by calling. They have to set an appointment for a manager to call you back at an unspecified time; so, if you miss the call, you have to call back and re-schedule. I never did get my money back. These guys are a horribly managed company, they will rip you off if they get a chance. So that week, one of my family members died and I had to pay a company $450 for 3 beat up books that I was one day late returning. I sent them back to see if they would give me just a discounted return, and they didn’t do anything. SO, I GOT NOTHING!! please don’t get ripped off.

GET THEM AT AMAZON, AS THE PREVIOUS POSTER SAID, THEY ARE SOLD FOR KEEPING FOR LESS MONEY.

My book arrived at my house two days before it was expected to arrive. I was going to give them five stars until I opened the box. The book I rented was described to be in “very good” condition, but it actually was not. The cover was bent and its glossy film was peeling. The rest of its pages were bent, too. The bottom of the book has stains that might be coffee or some chocolate drink (hopefully). I’m definitely returning it. This is the second time I had a bad experience with them. During the first time, they sent me somebody else’s orders. I’m just utterly disappointed. I expected more from them since I know they’ve been in college, too at some point in their lives.

Never had a problem with them. Decent condition of books, timely shipping, good prices. Maybe I’ve just been lucky BookRenter.com is another pretty good site.

I bought a math textbook for under $30 from there once. My other transactions with Chegg have mostly been rentals.

I like Chegg. Contrary to other posters, my books got here very quickly (2-3 days). Not brand new, but average condition. Nothing to complain about.

We rented 4 books this month. One was a little more beat than I liked so after hunting on their website i was able to report it as “damaged”. It’s in “your account” that you do that. It was a paperback that had about a half inch tear on the cover, I was afraid it might rip the rest of the way, or even just another inch or two. They give you the option of returning it and I guess they send you a different one. Not sure how that works. Turns out he needs a dif edition anyway, so it’s good because they say you have 21 days to return.

I am starting to rent the books that seem ready for a new edition. That way you don’t get stuck with a book they aren’t using next year. If it’s half or so of used we rent, otherwise probably buy used. The longer it’s been out the greater risk of a beat up book though.

I’ve always had really good luck with chegg…

I checked out Chegg and didn’t like the prices I was seeing, so I used Neebo instead. Seems much cheaper, especially with the 20% off, atm.

To those planning to use Chegg. DO NOT DO IT. They rip people off. My friend tried one of their services and lost $300 from their bank account. DO NOT DO IT
Never had a problem getting the books or solutions service. Was just fine.
