Thanks Poncem! The ripley's museum is really cool, I just posted another picture from the ripley's museum, it's crazy. Times square was fun that day, I love playing around with saturation in photos!

great work!! , I like the portraits and I'm not a fan of portraits, so that's saying a lot! I also love the usage of black and whites, I love black and white photography.
There's a link to my portfolio if you want to check it out and give me feedback as well.

Poncem,I can distinctively see the two different styles, the sketch of the back looks like maybe the charcoal was a bit messier than the sketch of the man, I don't know how to word that correctly. What kind of charcoal did you use for the back sketch?
I'm really liking the charcoal man, I don't know if this was on purpose but his arm looks like it's sort of unraveling.. I like that aspect of it. I can see his chest, belly button, collar bones, it's really good!

the back sketch isn't bad either I just like the man sketch more.

thanks! I like the charcoal man more too. the back sketch charcoal is called in spanish vegetal charcoal, don't know if that's the real translation, and then it's smudged, while the other one is charcoal pencil.

I do like the charcoal man, but it defeats the purpose of charcoal. If you were going to draw in that style, I think a pencil would have been more effective. With charcoal, you want to smear and blend and go smoothly into shades. For a charcoal study, the sketch is heading in the right direction use wise.

thanks! (on liking the charcoal man).
I know it's not the proper way to use charcoal, but I must say that it's not exactly the normal charcoal, which can be easily smudged, this one doesn't get smudged that much (it's the harder concentrated version of charcoal, something like that), still I liked it better with charcoal than pencil because of the darker rougher lines =D

cherrycrush021- Catie, Meg, and your self portrait are really life-like and I think the schools will enjoy that! they look awesome. Your fruit and metallic still lifes are my fav still lifes, so alive is really cool. I love Paula especially it's really detailed and way out of here shows creativity.

Overall I think it is a good mix and you have a great shot!

OMY this forum made me felt so inferiorrrr =_+, I guess I need to work more on my artworks. I applied for 9 schools, 7 of it were art schools (some of it waived my application). PRATT (accepted through EA), CCS (accepted with $24,000), MICA (waiting for confirmation this week), SMFA (accepted), RISD, AAC and RUTGERS MASON GROSS.

here are a couple pieces from my portfolio.i didn't apply to specific art schools, but some universities with strong arts programs. any comments are welcome.
