Spring 2010 GPA: 3.266 Cumulative GPA: 2.426

This has been my best semester yet i must say because my previous 3 semesters expecially in the fall my GPA has dropped. Matter Fact, after the fall (My worst semester yet) my GPA was a 2.0 which wasnt very good.

Spring: 4.3
Cumulative: 3.99

^^ Your school factors in A+s?

My school doesn’t. I got A+ in physics, but it shows up as an A on my transcript.

Wait, east89, are you a high school student? If not, what school do you go to? I’ve never heard of a college that has weighted grades (in regards to your “4.3” GPA).

Then what’s the point of even having an A+?

I’m pretty sure there’s other colleges out there that do that, as well. LSAC even accounts for A+s as a 4.3 when students send in their transcripts for law school admissions. I believe Columbia uses the system, but I’m not certain on that one. The term weighted usually applies to honors classes, which is not the case in this instance; it’s just the fact that an A+=4.3, while an A is equivalent to a 4.0. This differs from HS since I’ve never known one to use an A+ grading system, and the only way one can go above a 4.0 is with honors and AP.

Edit: yea, I was right about Columbia:

^ Wow. I learn something new everyday. Never knew about weighted systems at colleges. Wish my school had that. Thanks for the info =)

GPA: 4.0 Cumulative: 4.0

I wish my school offered A+s, I would have had 4 of them
I am going to miss these easy general ed classes.

I’m pretty sure Stanford and Rice also weigh A+s as 4.3s.

Yeah Stanford gives out A+s as 4.3s as well.

So does this mean that schools that don’t take into account A+s, put their students at a disadvantage?

^^I’ve always been told to put your GPA out of maximum possible on resumes. For example, your GPA line would read “3.8/4.0”

So, no.

^^ wow, I never knew that.

Thanks. I learned something new today. :)

Intro to human origins: B

Japanese biggeners 2: C

Japanese History: C-

Medieval History: C

Calc II – C

GPA: 3.13
Cum. GPA: 2.95

I wish Vandy believed in 4.3’s :(

I won’t post my classes and grades. Just my GPA:

Spring Semester: 2.9
Cumulative: 3.25 (it dropped from a 3.3, which makes a difference to me)

I had a terrible and I mean horrible semester. What made me even more angry was that I worked so hard in the fall and ended up with a semester GPA of 3.75. Then to go to a 2.9 in the spring — that just suuuuucked.

I shouldn’t have taken 3 linguistics courses. I really thought I would love this major, but I hate it. It’s too philosophical and scientific for my liking. I’m going back to English/Literature :(

I figure I can still graduate with a 3.5 or 3.6 at the end of my undergrad years if I work as hard as I did in the fall.

It seems to me that college will be A LOT more difficult than I anticipated. Seeing all of these C’s scares me lol

Spanish 201 - A

Math 136 (biz math/applied calc) - A
English 104- A-
