My DD submitted her application almost a month ago. Within a day or so she received an automated email indicating that she should receive a postcard in the mail with her ID number. She needs the ID number in order to complete the honors application. I called Clemson admissions a couple weeks ago and they said they were running behind.

My son hasn’t received his postcard yet either. I was worried that maybe we missed it and trashed it with the junk mail…so it’s helpful to hear that they’re running behind and it must still be coming.

ljrfrm - glad to hear its just not us. With all the various junk mail from schools we too thought it might have been accidently pitched. DD has applied to 7 schools and everything is complete except for the Clemson honors application. It would be nice to finish the process. As far as the honors app, is it complicated? how many essays are needed?

I’d love to hear that answer regarding the honors application also. I know my son is so over writing any more essays. After posting - I went and asked my son. He submitted his application Aug. 23rd so not quite as long as your daughter. Hopefully they’ll get the postcard soon.

So glad to hear we’re not the only ones! Son submitted on August 1st, the day the applications opened. I finally called up there a couple of weeks ago when we hadn’t gotten our post card, and they told me they did receive the application, but no mention of being behind or any explanation for why we hadn’t gotten the post card. I assumed we had thrown ours out with junk mail too. Admissions told me on the phone that we could include his Social Security number on any other application information we’re sending in and that would be fine. (although he’s not applying to honors)

To be quite honest, the application process can be frustrating at times - it sure would be nice if the admissions office entered the 21st century and posted updates of your application online instead of sending out postcards

I was discussing this situation with another parent and our guidance counselor just 2 days ago - apparently the admissions office has been converting to a new system. We received an email with the following info:

“If it has been several days or weeks since you applied, please know that we are in the process of a data system change-over. We have been validating incoming information with the new system which may have delayed our email correspondence. While many items connected to the new student data system will improve your overall experience at Clemson, we may have a few delays in communication as we bring other connected components live.”

The same email included the ID number we need to start the honors application. Hopefully you all will be receiving this email soon.
