Potential Fall 2015 Transfer -- Marshall

Dear Friends,

Hello! I am a current rising sophomore at a university in the Pacific Northwest, and looking into transferring to USC for the 2015-2016 academic year. Since the Common Application is live, so is my anxiety haha.

I don't think there is a form started, but I would like to get one going. Also, I'm looking into insights to myself as a potential USC transfer:

College GPA: 3.25 (extremely low, I know)
Major: Pre Business Administration and Asian American Studies

Extra-Curriculars:
Involvement/Clubs (Unpaid)
*Marketing/PR Internship under the Student Government's Asian Student Commission
*Committee Member in the Taiwanese Student Association
*First-Year Interest Group Instructor (Spring 2014-Autumn 2014), teaching incoming first year students about the university, includes grades, syllabus, assignments
*Social Media Coordinator in a Pan-Asian Leaders Business Club
*Curricular Leadership Education Committee Member, under the school's Leadership Initiative to allow access and visibility of leadership education to all types of students (mostly undergraduates)
*Member of the Intercollegiate Taiwanese American Student Association

Paid/Work
*Worked in a tea shop since January 2014 until present
*Worked in another tea shop in California since May 2012 until present (working when I'm back home)
*Residential Education Programmer, facilitating discussions about education through programming in the residency halls

Have two potential letters of recommendations in mind. Did you find that the letter of recommendation gave you an advantage?

Recently took four community college courses, receiving three A's and a B, GPA totals to about 3.73. Does USC value this in their calculation, the combination to my current GPA + community college GPA?

Thinking about transferring based on potentially being denied to my business major (will be applying in October 2014) and wanted to keep my options open. Looking into applying to the Marshall School of Business, some major pre-reqs:

English: Received an A in my English course at my university, however USC requires that I complete an additional English course along with it to satisfy their writing requirement... so I'm thinking about just taking an online English course at a CC to save some money.
Business Calculus: B (3.00)
Financial Accounting: A (4.00)
Microeconomics: B (3.00)

My question: I understand that English and Calculus must be completed before transferring, would it make a difference if I took English in the Spring Semester? Would it look better to have a set grade for English prior to submitting the Common App?
