Transferring to USC Fall 2012

Hi everyone! I have a kinda of unique situation and could use some opinions, so hear me out.

I currently go to Long Beach City College in Long Beach, CA and I am planing on transferring this fall. I have applied to USC Marshall School of Business and I have always wanted to go there all my life. I have been to many Trojan football games with my parents, who are both alumni and visited the campus multiple times. I've always felt that I was destined to go there. My g.p.a. is a 3.1 (not good) but I feel that I really did a great job on my application and on my three essays, I have three really good letters of recommendations from my english teacher, my cousin I worked for at a independent investment company (a USC alumni), and one from Senator John McCain himself who I worked for as an intern this past summer. As I stated earlier, both my mom and dad are alumni does that help? Also there is a lady who works in the Marshall School of Business that is kinda helping get in. So what do you think of my chances? Haven't heard anything back and they haven't ask for my spring grades. So i wonder what kind of sign that means?

P.S. I have gotten accepted to all the other schools I applied for: Chapman University, Cal State Long Beach, and the University of Oregon but USC is my clear cut first choice. I would give an arm and a leg to go there haha.

Hope for the best :).

A lot of people are still waiting on the USC 2012 Transfer forum for Marshall and there also have been some stats (if you want to compare yourself). But after reading the forums from previous years, there has been people who have been admitted w/o SGR and those w/ SGR.

I am trying to transfer too :).

hi, it’s funny i am in your same situation. both of my parents are usc alums too and i really want to go there this fall. i applies to annenberg. i have an average gpa but 3 recommendations (one from an eng teacher who taught there and one from an alum who has worked with usc). i am really hoping they see how much i want to go there. so anyways, i know how you feel. except i havent heard from my back up schools yet either soo… i need some good news soon! hopefully usc :)

Sorry but no way. A lot of people with 3.8 and higher got rejected as transfers. I don’t want to be rude, but I don’t think you have a chance IF USC only compares applications side by side. However, if they’re take that “help” you’re getting as a factor, then who knows? Maybe you’ll get in. But that’s going to be damn unfair for those who worked their ass off to try and get in.
