Hello CC! I am a Junior and I would like some thoughts, on, well, me.

I would be honored to attend a school with the such great academics and people -- i.e. Harvard.

So, here's me (only very censored):

Acedemics

Top 1% of Class
High SAT Scores
High SAT II Scores
Should I take ACT too?
xteen AP Exams at end of this (Junior) year. Those I have taken are 4s and 5s.
edx.org courses

Honors

Speech competitions, AMC 12 Honors, AP Scholar (hopefully National this year), Scholastic Art and Writing, Boy's State, President's Volunteer Service Award, BAA, Book Award

Extracurriculars

Will major in ECON and whatever is assigned to me if I do ROTC. Plan on doing MUN, the Undegraduate Council, and ROTC (plus a job and meeting my classmates).

I would greatly Appreciate any Feedback!

Bumb. Will chance you back!

Your chances are VERY high. Ace the essays and you will be fine. Apply as a poli-sci major considering your stats (you dont declare until soph year anyways)
Yes, take the ACT. No harm in it.
Best of luck!

Your ECs also lean to poli-sci.

Thanks @mtawf17 Lets get others to chance us!

Anytime, and yes sounds good!

Ec’s are awesome.
More info for the academics would really be needed for a full assessment.

I can pm you @PurePhysics

Nothing stands out…

Sent from my SGH-T959V using CC

Edit:
15 APs after junior year, will have 27 at end of senior year. Only three are classes. 12 are self-studied.
Also big in Music: Jazz Band President, Jazz Drum Set NYSSMA All-State, Marched in the National Memorial Day Parade in D.C., will march at Main Street U.S.A. (Disney)

Definitely a strong contender in my opinion.

Thank You to everyone who responded!
To those who are viewing and who haven’t posted, I will chance back (even though I am only a student and not an Admissions Officer…).

Thank You Again

Holy cow 27 APs O_O

Don’t take the ACT. It’s a waste of time. It won’t augment your resume.

Can we get some hard numbers for the SAT I and II? There’s a difference between a 2250 and a 2400.

Here some chances:

Harvard - Reach
Yale - Reach
Princeton - SLIGHTLY less of a reach than those two because they value academics more
Stanford - Reach
MIT - Reach
Columbia - Low Reach
Dartmouth - Low Reach
Brown - Low Reach
UPenn - Low Reach
Cornell - High Match

Not so sure about your chances.

Those 27 APs may hurt you. Surely you aren’t actually interested in all of those subjects. You seem to be trying for a record, but it may not be considered valuable by adcoms. (“Doesn’t this kid have anything better to do with his time? Doesn’t he have any other interests?”)

Also, you may come in with enough credits to graduate in 2 years. Why should a school admit someone whose relationship is going to be so brief and tangential? Why should a school admit someone who seems more interested in self-study than in taking the school’s own courses?

And what is this NPO Director? Please don’t tell us you started another unnecessary nonprofit that replicates more established organizations because you think it will help your application. Adcoms are aware of this. They don’t like it.
