Potentially Big Problem..................

Hi, I'm a current first year in the college who has suddenly realized that I am only enrolled in two courses for winter quarter. I had my advisor meeting, and my temp advisor assured me that my PHY/SCI class had a winter quarter. I just checked the time schedules online and realized that no, it does not have a winter quarter. I'm trying not to over react, but am I screwed? The quarter's almost over and I don't know how I can get an appointment. What should I do? I know the class I want to take instead, should I just try to pink slip in?

OK. Relax. Deep breaths.

All you do is register for another class or two. Most students register for four classes. Then they have the option of dropping a class later if they want to. There are hundreds of classes you could take in the winter. Pick two that fit in your schedule by checking timeschedules and evaluations. Then sometime during pre-registration, which is this coming week I believe, go to cmore. There will be a link to class registration. Add the classes you want to take. You will be asked to list 3 choices of sections if there are multiple sections of the class; you don't need to fill them all in. Your schedule will be made for you. If it doesn't work out for some reason, that's when you try to pink slip into a class (such as if you don't get into the class you want to take or your miss pre-registration or you change your mind after registration).

Just ask an upperclassman in your dorm for help if you need it.

Yeah, no worries. I usually don't technically register for classes until 3rd week of the quarter itself.

This should not really be a problem. There are plenty or requirements you need to fulfill even if you do not know what you major is going to be. Have you done your art / music / drama or bio-topics elective? Also, do not worry about breaking up your physical science sequence. I took the first quarter of physics my freshmen year and the second quarter my senior year and was perfectly fine.

thanks for the responses. i've found a solution.
