PR Tests Vs. BB vs McGraw vs. Barrons

SO exhausted all my resources ETS wise... Did first 6 OC tests, ALL QASs before 2008 and the BB as well as some PSATs. Consistently around a 2150-2250 and i would like to get a 2400. What should i do? Should i start doing McGraw hill SATs? and what sections? I know that some sections of these books are absolutely horrendous like Barrons who has ridiculously hard math. Input from 2300+ers highly revered!!! Thanks guys and PM me if you can give me QASs past 07, i have much in terms of APs.

there is a kaplan book

what is your score break down?

Essentially 730-800 for CR… sometimes i lack concentration? or im just out of focus or i just guess incorrectly. Around on average 2-4 wrong
Math generally around 1-4 wrong… i have 99.99 percent of the concepts down… most are just focus errors or careless ones.
Writing: I have good days and bad, last couple QASs i was getting only around 1-3 wrong while i took a OC course and got 6 wrong for writing…

Hope that helps.

Well it seems your scores are pretty even and I think your best bet would be to improve math.

For math I would recommend trying a different technique.

What I do is I do every problem as fast as humanly possible (usually in 1/4 time) and then using the remaining time to check each problem over. I end up checking the more difficult problems over 2 or 3 times. I tend to find 1-2 mistakes. This works well for me (800 90% of the time).

Wow, im surprised that you can catch your own errors, in tests like these, i perform completely differently on test day so i tend to take up a lot more time more than 1/4 of the time that i usually use and end up rushing the end = more time. Currently, I’m just slowing things down a bit so im more careful the first time through and i can give a cursory glance the 2nd time… but any advice concerning the books/tests?

^I used to do what you did - take my time and do everything carefully - but I was stuck at 700-750, so I would atleast try my method on a practice test. It is worth a shot.

Princeton Review seems to be the best out of the prep companies.

Should i do all sections from PR or just specific ones? i find that their CR is horrible while math is about the same and writing is iffy but doable. also what did you score on the SATs? just wondering.

TPR tests most closely mirror the BB tests, I’ve found. Kaplan tests are good, too.

okay thanks. any other suggestions?
