So yeah, the title says it all. Do scores in practice tests are usually greater than those of the Test Day? If so, how greater are they usually? Discuss.

By the way, is the Kaplan 12 tests Edition of 2007, if anyone has that, easier than the real thing?

Please don't hesitate to share all the knowledge you have, thanks.

It all depends on the test. You really can’t know until you take the SAT. Some practice tests are obviously easier or harder than the SAT for everyone, but then there are some which some people think are simple and some people think are insanely hard because it’s all about individual strengths. The same is true for the PSAT versus SAT. Many people I know did better on the SAT, but a few had lower scores and a bunch stayed abou the same. You really can’t predict it very well because too many personal factors (anxiety, speed, having an “off day”, which section you’re best at, etc.) play a part.

Has any of you guys entered the real SAT already? What was the difference between your Practice Tests’ scores and the real thing? That’s really important to me. You see, I’m always able to get a score in the CR section between 590 and 650, and I was wondering if that score would go any lower in the real thing… :/

it differs from person to person.
In the blue book and real practice tests, my score was always between 1800 and 2100. I took the may and june tests. I scored 1980 in may and 1890 in june.

In my experience, Kaplan tests are definitely easier than the real thing. Your best bet is the blue book. But if you’re looking for more practice, Princeton Review is probably the next best one. It’s a little bit harder than the normal ones so don’t freak out. If you’re up for a challenge, then try Barron’s. Those are ridiculously hard. For Princeton Review I was probably in the 2100s. For the blue book it was higher. Maybe low 2200s? When I took the real thing, I got a 2290.
