Pre-Application essay questions!

Word limit?

It says to mail it to the admissions office. What info should I mail along with the essay (personal info?), and how--what format?

when is it due btw?
the pre app deadline or the real deadline?

and I quote:

"The Pre-Application essay question cannot be completed online, but should be mailed directly to the Admissions Office by January 1, The Emma Willard House, 5405 Middlebury College, Middlebury, VT 05753."

i am mailing the photocopy of the graded essay along with the supplemental essay

Yeah, but should I just send the pre-app essay by itself? There is no form to send it along with

I called the office, you can submit the preapp essay and the graded one from school in the same envelope as the commonapp if you send it via mail...if not then just send the two things by themselves...put a cover page or something on it with your info.

Like send it with the Counselor report from the common app?

Oh no...send it with the actual common app that you fill out yourself....if you applied online, send the preapp alone

But when do you send it? If D sends in the Pre-App online by the 15th, can she put the essay in with her Common Application and graded essay and mail them at the end of the month, or does the essay have to be sent in by the 15th as well?

the deadline for the essay is jan 1 with the common app and graded paper and all others.

is it okay for me to send the pre-appl by mail and the Common appl electronically? i tried a few times to pay for the pre-appl online, but after the a few seconds of processing time, the screen displayed ' a break-in attempt has been detected' . so i guess i might as well send the pre-appl by mail.

Yes, that's fine and that's what I did. In fact there is no way to send the essay about community or the graded one by the Internet; you can only send the actual Pre-App form online and of course the Common App.
