It says on top of the pre-application to "send this in as soon as you know you will be applying to Dartmouth, even before you send in any other forms." Trouble is, there are 2 choices in circles at the top of the page: you have to check either ED or RD.

Trouble is, I KNOW I'm applying to Dartmouth. I'm 95% sure it is my first-choice school, perfect for ED. But my mother wants me to take an overnight visit in early October to see if it is truly right for me. Is it ok that I send in the form, designated "ED" or "RD" in mid-October, just 3 wks. before the application itself is due, or should I send it in ASAP marked a 95% sure, 5% unsure "ED"?

Dartmouth will not trash you if you change your mind. I'd send it in with ED checked. If you're really worried you could put a dotted circle around RD. It's not a big deal though.

be careful about picking ED, because if you do, you're stuck with that one place for FOUR YEARS!

And u should visit first, just to be on the safe side. Hanover's a really small street (the town is one street), and it's sort of far from civilization. The campus is really nice and the kids are friendly though

I did visit with my parents, they just want me to do an overmite too. I think its a good idea. No use rushing something in when its not that big a deal anyway.

Well you can send it in October too. I know a few people who applied last year and they sent it in October. So I dont think you would have a problem. :)

i wrote "i am probably going to apply ED because it is my first choice school, however, my parents aren't big fans of ED. I'll let you know though, don't worry. :)"

i didn't mail it yet because i was scared they're going to be like. wow this kid is such a loser. REJECT!
