Pre-College Programs

I also don't know anything about these. Are they the summer before you start college? How do you apply? Thanks for the help and sorry for being bothersome!

Usually the students who attend are Juniors going into Senior year in high school. If you look back and search the old threads, you should be able to find a lot of valuable information to help you. Oftentimes these programs teach you audition techniques as well as acting, singing and dance lessons, so they come in handy for the auditions you will have to perform in your Senior year trying to get in a college MT program.

The pre-college programs referenced on this thread are discussed under the Summer Programs thread. You will find all the info you are seeking there as well as lots more in the archives.

Also, go to the FAQ page for a list of some summer programs

Can you still get into programs for this summer or am I too late?

It varies.

Carnegie Mellon is rolling admission. Applications due May 1. You can download the form at cmu.edu It does require references, transcripts and some other materials that can take time to assemble.

I think Syracuse is rolling as well, without a specific cut off, just whether there are openings. syracuse.edu YOu can call them and ask if they have availability.

You should call the various schools and ask. University for the arts has a program as well, which I think does not require a formal, complicated application.
