Pre dental reqs

Hi all,

I recently decided I wanted to pursue pre dental reqs or dental school. I am a business major now and have to get my business reqs out of the way before I go into my actual business major which is about only 7 classes. I am going into my sophomore year so I have some room during the next summers to do the dental pre reqs and possibly at the same time when I go into my actual major I can squeeze some in. My question is, if I don’t finish all the pre dental reqs before I finish undergrad, would I have to retake them in a post bac program? Or would a post bac program make me retake all the reqs I already did? This may sound confusing but I can’t find an answer this specific. Any reply helps, thank you.

Pre reqs FOR dental school I mean not or

What I meant to say is would a post bac program let me finish the few that I need ? Like for example lets just say I have 3 pre reqs left

You have to finish the prerequisites as an undergraduate in order to apply to dental school. Generally they are 1 year calculus, at least a year each in physics, chemistry and biology. You’ll probably have to take other science courses like bio-chemistry. I don’t know what other courses you might have to take, but generally the courses are similar to students on the medical, pharmacy or optometry track. I know at least for pharmacy, a second year of chemistry, organic chemistry, is needed. Look at the college catalog.
