As a student planning to apply to Haas the Fall of '09 I'm looking at the options for my backup major in case I do not get accepted. If accepted to Haas I was planning to get a simultaneous degree in Econ or Media Studies, and if not accepted then I would double major in Econ and Media Studies (since I'm in L&S). However, looking over the prereq courses for Econ I see that you have to take Econ 100A/101A & Econ 100B/101B. For Econ 101A and 101B you need Math 53.

If I am to be accepted to Haas, then Econ 101A and Econ 101B can replace UGBA 101A and UGBA 101B, so I'm thinking it'd be smarter if I took Econ 101A & 101B instead of Econ 100A & 100B. Although I would have to spend a semester taking Math 53 I think it'd be worth it overall, and reduce the amount of classes I take. Can I get some feedback?
