<li><p>how fast does econ 1 fill up? I am asking because I won't get my AP micro and macro scores till July 1st ish, and I'm not sure if i need it. I would like to know if phase 2 it will be bad. also, as i am an incoming student, let me make sure i get it right. so we get an orientation appointment and register classes at orientation...can I change anything after orientation AND BEFORE phase II?</p></li>
<li><p>is it bad to strategically put the infamous Stats 20 in 2nd semester Sophmore year, so it won't count towards my GPA? will admissions not like it? (fyi im in AP stats this year)</p></li>
<li><p>How would you rank the following R&C classes in easiness?</p></li>
<li><p>Scandinavia R5A</p></li>
<li><p>German R5A</p></li>
<li><p>Native American Studies R1A</p></li>
<li><p>African American Studies R1A (summer)</p></li>
<li><p>Asian American Studies R2A (summer)</p></li>

<p>i know German is supposed to be really easy, but i think the professor teaching this semester is a little tough. will the curves on courserank still be accurate? In general, at Berkeley, how much does a course curve/difficulty and professor tough-ness matter in terms of overall difficulty? </p>
<p>Also, do u have any advice on how to maximize my chances for Haas? I'm freaking out because I really really really want to get into Haas.</p>

<p>if you’re in AP stats idk why you wouldnt have an advantage over people seeing the material for the first time. you should probably only put off a prereq to the fourth semester if you have a stong feeling you’re going to get a B or so in it. otherwise, the goal is to munch up as many pretty A’s as possible to shine up your gpa, especially by doing well on the prereqs.</p>
<p>but its quite common that not all prereqs are completed by the 3rd semester, so long as you have been taking one a semester, it should be fine</p>
<p>Haas’ prerequisites are:</p>
<p>UGBA 10
Economics 1
Math (weird Haas requirement, but completing either two calculus courses or 53 or 54 fulfills it)
R&C A and B
Statistics 20 or 21</p>
<p>This is only 7 courses at most, so it should not be too hard to get them all in 4 semesters. And then try to cover as many breadths as possible and/or take courses for an alternate major or minor.</p>
<p>UGBA 10 is the only one that is not affected by AP credit, so you may want to try for that. If you have taken AP Calculus and English but do not know the scores, you may have to change your Math and R&C courses if your AP scores are different from expected. Of course, you have noticed the same with AP Economics.</p>

<li><p>fills up quickly out of nowhere. econ 1 is a very popular course.</p></li>
<li><p>the ones you named should be relatively easy. i don’t know what the work load for those specific classes are like (it varies between semesters and instructors/GSIs) but german and scandinavian have the reputation of being the easiest of the R&C courses</p></li>
