How hard is pre-med at miami?
any insight or inside scoops on it?

What is the Best Major for Pre-Med at miami?
I heard zoology was the best...but i feel like the MCAT is more geared toward chemistry

TEACHERS?
Which teachers DON'T you want to have? Which teachers are the easiest? Hardest?

I was pre-med for quite some time, and of course it requires some time commitment. (It’s not nearly as bad as some make it out to be, though!) As long as you take the prereqs (a year of BMZ, general chem, ochem, physics), you should be fine for the MCAT. A lot of pre-meds major in zoology, microbiology, chemistry, or biochem, but you can major in any subject. I was never a chemistry major, but I had no significant issues with the chemistry portions of the MCAT-- if anything, they were the easiest subjects for me.

Don’t worry about finding “easier” grading scales-- you want demanding PROFESSORS (not teachers) if you’re truly interested in pre-med. I’ve never had a professor whom I thought graded unfairly. I liked all of my chemistry professors and thought their classes were really easy, but a lot of students would vehemently disagree with me.

well i would still like my questions to be answered…but thanks for your help

D is Zoology major pre-med. Most pre-meds are Zoology major at Miami. It is tough! The first semester BMZ (Botany, micro-bio, zoology) is a killer. Got to work hard! D is Junior, still staight As. She has 2 minors and very busy working, volunteering, sorority board,…etc. She has been able to have summers off, have not taken summer classes yet. She loves it there. So far she has complains only about her Orgo Lab teacher and one in her Music minor. She liked all the rest of them. I do not know the name of Orgo Lab guy, some older one who has been teaching forever.
