Pre-med at W&M

Hi everyone!

I'm hoping to transfer to W&M this coming spring semester. I loved the tour of the school and I think the academic rigor will help me to perform well on MCATs. I've been looking around the website and some other threads about the pre-med program and biology department in general.

I've read some great things on the W&M website about med school acceptances, but I was wondering if anyone knew if it was really that great? Do any current students, alum, or anyone in general know how the biology department is at W&M? Are professors open to research positions with them? Are there a good deal of internship opportunities?

Any input would be appreciated!

Prospective students can always contact our pre-med advisor, Dr. Bev Sher via email. She’s happy to discuss the pre-med advising program with prospective students and answer any questions they might have.
