Right now, I'm thinking psychiatry. I'm currently in Biology Honors. I have a background in chemistry, and I'm rather good at it. I have to choose between the following classes for my last two years of high school:

Two years Chemistry, one year IB Psychology and one year IB Economics
Two years Physics, one year IB Psych and one year IB Economics
Two years Chem AND two years Physics

If I take the two years of Chem and two years of Physics, I can also take regular level psychology for one semester. Which route do you think would be best for pre-med?

Take two years of chemistry, two years of physics and one year of psychology.
By the way, I am considering neurosurgery. I am currently taking AP Bio right now. Next year I will be taking AP Chemistry. For senior year, I am taking AP Physics. Just make sure you are taking the most challenging math classes available too.

FYI, it literally doesn’t matter what high school classes you take if you want to go premed. It has no effect on whether you can be a premed candidate or not. All that is determined by the courses you take in college. Just take what you want, while maintaining a level of rigor that is appropriate for your academic ability.

Maybe you should be more concerned with which courses look better to get into college, but it still doesn’t matter very much as long as you do well.
