What pre-med activities can one do on campus? Is there any physician shadowing available? Do most pre-meds and/or MD/PhD students stay on campus over winter and summer breaks?

Premed stuff:
1. Volunteering at Cayuga Med Center: email Cal Wood, the volunteer director
2. Volunteering at Gannett (the student health clinic)
3. The Cornell Mentorship and Externship programs will pair you with physicians to shadow, but you can always look for physicians on your own, of course
4. A lot of premed and health-related student organizations
5. Loads of non-medical volunteer and employment opportunities

How far is Cayuga Med Center from campus and how can i get there?

For the "The Cornell Mentorship and Externship program", where does this program take place, on campus?

Cayuga Med is a short bus ride away.

The programs just pair you with a physician to shadow. You will still be shadowing at their offices and/or Cayuga Med.

You can also be an EMT, WFR, or work for the Fire Department. If you work for the Fire Department, you can get free rent.
