I was wondering what pre-med major(s) i should do in my 4 years at UM. I already got accepted to thier med school so i dont have to worry too much about keeping up a high gpa or mcats, and i was kinda hoping i could do a non-bio/chem major, just cause i kno ill get more than enough of it in med school. I was thinking psychology, or a communications degree, maybe even business or getting a Masters in public health administration or an MBA b4 goin into med school. double majoring would also be an option cause i was still thinkin of nueroscience, but i really just wanna major in something that would be beneficial to me as a doctor once i get out of med school. any idea's/suggestions/comments?

ok.....my bro was in the same situation as you except at a diff. school!! Yes, you do have to keep up your GPA at UM (did you read the requirements to stay in the program!!!) i think you need to maintain a 3.5 or higher or somtin like that to still be considered for med school or else they could drop your exceptance!! i would suggest doing a double major in communications and bussiness administartion! These will help you alot when being a doctor. If you are going to open your own practice you will need great communication skills as well as great finance/bussiness strategy skills or else you wont be successful! So thats my suggestion or you could just single major (scince med school will be RIGORUS) and prob. do it in business admin. or another bussiness mjor! best of luck doctor!
