I am currently a high school senior who is planning to take a pre-med program course. I am unsure what major will help me the most when it comes to aspiring to go into medical school. I know many say it doesn’t matter, but I would like to know the opinion of everyone. I am planning on majoring as in Biology, but I have come across an interesting fact that majoring in Spanish can also be beneficial. I tried to find a middle ground so I thought of majoring in Biology and minoring in Spanish. What are your suggestions as to what is the best major for Medical School? Is it good to major in Biology and minor in Spanish? Post your opinions please :).
My friend is majoring in Bio Chem and wants to become a dermatologist.

No, what you’ve come across is that med schools accept people from a wide variety of majors. There’s nothing intrinsically special about Spanish as opposed to English Literature or Physics or Music Composition.
What you want to do is to choose a major that will allow YOU to thrive and to achieve an excellent GPA. What if you stumble into a fantastic History department at your college? What should you do? Chase it while doing your med school pre-reqs
It can be whatever. Remember – this will be more or less your last shot to explore subjects in-depth outside of the med school path before you embark on the career (for the next 45-50 years).
^ This. Since physicians use so many skills in their practice, any major can be pretty useful/beneficial in a variety of ways to getting an MD. You don’t have to major in biology, but if you are genuinely interested in biology it is a good major. If you want to learn Spanish then that can be useful for treating Spanish-speaking patients - if you actually learn to speak it at least conversationally - but there are lots of other languages that could be useful, too.
