Pre-Med university suggestions?

I'm currently a sophomore girl at a selective admission Science and Technology (STEM) focused high school. By the end of high school, I would have taken 7-8 APs and all other honors. I am expected to have a 4.3ish GPA by senior year and currently have a 2300 range SAT score (superscore).

Besides from school, I am an officer of a Bioengineering club at my school, have been playing Piano and singing cultural music for 8 years (as well as competing), and participate in USA Biology Olympiad, Future Problem Solvers, am doing a research internship, etc.

I am interested in going pre-med.

Given my background, which US colleges would you recommend to look into/apply? (Tuition and distance from home is not a major factor) I am also at a preference for a larger college atmosphere & enjoy competitive environments.

Thank you very much in advance.

You want a school with:

Pre-med courses that will prepare you well for the MCAT.

High grade inflation relative to student competitiveness.

Convenient access to pre-med extracurriculars.

Low net cost to save money because medical school is expensive.

Your desired major(s) (which do not have to be anything in particular, as long as you can fit the pre-med courses into your schedule).

You are an international student?

There are no “pre med universities”.

Pre-med students attend a variety of schools…various privates, various flagships, or even their local state school. Any good school is fine.

What state are you in?

Now is the time to talk to your parents about how much they’ll pay for college. That will largely determine where you should apply.

I’m in VA, and interested in mostly private schools (with exception to schools like UVA).

Do a search here on CC for threads related to premed and medical school - there are many, many threads with advice for pre-meds on how to choose a school, what to be aware of, etc… Repeating it all here would be redundant.

Rice
Brown
And you should look at schools that offer auto admit to their med school like:
UAB
