<p>Due to timing and the extra cost, S wasn’t planning to do the pre-orientation trip, but I guess he will now!</p>
<p>I think this is a good thing – but as one student who disliked the change said, “it’s really just an extension of Orientation.” If all the incoming freshmen do it, the only reason to continue calling it Pre-Orientation is to keep it as a separate financial commitment. After all, if it’s part of orientation and it’s mandatory, it should be included in the tuition and fees. The article doesn’t address whether that will be the case (or I missed that part). I guess students will have to find out in May, when the schedule of fees is released (after students have made their decisions).</p>
