And what’s it really about anyway?

I received an Early Write on monday and it contained info on this Bowdoin Experience thing. I can't remeber everything it said, but its April 12-15, all-expense paid, extremely enjoyable, etc.

wow free of charge,,,

Yeah I really wish I could go... I have a Japanese competition on two of those days. :( I'm going to try and see if I can visit at a later date, but if I could get an all-expenses paid trip that would be amazing!

hmm well on my rejection for the november bowdoin event, it said i would be placed on a "priority list" for people to attend the spring one.

do you think they forgot about me =(

I think they look at socioeconomic concerns first, e.g. someone with money can go but others with financial hardship may opt not to go all the way to Maine and not accept Bowdoin's offer of admission because of that. So I'm pretty sure applicants are ranked in importance in terms of that.

According to the article fobnyker posted, last year who was invited was based largely on family income and if the students have visited before.

strange...cause i went to the bowdoin invitational in the fall and then they invited me again this spring...it's tempting to go again, but i think it would be unfair to other students so i'll probably won't go again...

the article was from last year, so it's possible that they selected people differently this year.

I'm going to the Bowdoin Experience, but i don't think they chose me to go this spring because of financial reasons. My family's income qualified me for no aid whats so ever.

And on the facebook group, some people went to the fall invitational and were invited back for the spring Bowdoin Experience...so I really don't know what criteria they used to invite people.

Side-note: sucks about the financial aid, I'm still waiting to find out about my fa.

Don't worry, you aren't alone :/
