How should a college freshman prepare for the MCAT? I guess its like a high school student preparing for the ACT/SAT?

A college freshman shouldn’t bother with preparing for the MCAT. Did you start studying for the SAT as a high school freshman? I hope not. What a waste of time.

Focus on studying for your classes. Getting off to a strong start in terms of GPA, ECs, and relationships with your professors and peers is what you should care about.

no i didn’t start to prepare for the SAT as a freshman in highschool lol
i was simply asking because a lot of the material in the MCAT are based on chemistry, biology and such. i wanted to know ahead of time instead of cramming for the MCAT in the last minute. What are the most important things to prepare for / recommendatiton for preparing for perhaps the biggest test ever?

Generally speaking, what I said above still applies: Getting off to a strong start in terms of GPA, ECs, and relationships with your professors and peers is what you should care about.

If you must have specifics for MCAT prep, focus on doing well in biology, chemistry, and physics, as well as your English classes and any other general education courses that require you to analyze and write about other people’s writing.

k i understand what you mean

btw how many of those classes should i take throughout my four years in school. im already signed up for chem and biology i could only take basic though. but what about physics and english? just one semester or a year OK?

You need a year of each.

ugh really hate those subjects, do they really take a major part in the MCAT or is physics just used to better understand how the body functions in conjunction with biology? same with english, just used to analyze writing?

so then general physics and a year of english writing classes sufficient? or more depth needed? n for bio and chem all 4 yrs?

They play a major part in the MCAT, medical school, and the practice of medicine. And in any case they’re requirements for med school.
