I know this not having every pre-req done is at a disadvantage but I applied to UCI UCLA, and UCSB for biz econ.

As for UCSB im covered completely but for UCI and UCLA I have both micro and macro done and I'm taking CALC 1 right now and I would have to take CALC 2 at either UCI or UCLA.

My gpa is 3.93 and my essays were good I guess and my ec's are ok as well.

My #1 choice is for UCI, I'm just wondering what the chances are for uci?

not having Calc is going to hurt i’m actually not too sure and since this board is full of econ majors and everyone i’ve seen has both calc done or in progress of finishing.

Good gpa but no clue because Calculus is usually a GPA buster class.

Do you have java+ c++ completed for UCI?

My school has the class listed, but they never offer it… So I’ve heard that wont be an issue really. But calc really isnt an issue, Im going to get an A for sure…

Ya but not having it complete is killer from their site

Business Economics, Economics, Quantitative Economics
Required:
a cumulative UC transferable GPA of 2.8
one year of basic economic theory (macroeconomics and microeconomics) with a grade of B or better in each course
one year of first-year calculus with a grade of B or better in each course

With that being said they accepted 60%+ of their applicants and i doubt you’ll be near the bottom so unless they automatically reject for not having required courses completed then you should be fine

Ahh that kinda freaks me out about uci then… I really should have had it done, I took business calculus for some weird reason (ucsb) and that was a breeze, I should have just done both calc 1 and calc 2 right away

for ucsb it says one calculus course

that means only cal one is fine correct?

UCSB says business calc OR both calc 1 and 2

and i think that calc 1 would also be just fine alone for ucsb

I am also taking cal1 now and taking cal2 on summer…

I kinda gave up on UCI and looking for UCSB now…

since I have TAG…hmm will see

I think you’ll be fine for UCSB, I really do. Whats your GPA?

I talked to a UCSB rep who knew alot about Business Econ at ucsb. And she said that all that was required was 1 stats class, both econ classes, and just ONE calc class

3.4 … but have all A in pre-req courses…

I am getting A in cal1 now… shoud have taken it earlier tho…

UCI used to be my #1 choice since I live in irvine but oh well…

I can’t stay at cc any longer…

Yeah I feel the same way about it… But I think you’re fine at UCSB

I wish someone could tell me how UCI does biz econ. Is it an automatic reject if both arent completed

Wish you a best luck desetak

we will find out soon when another decisions are posted…

yeah definitely! good luck!
