Pre-Screening Results 2008-2009

Congrats Bluepearl and Notfromme!

Thanks, everyone!

Big Congrats to bluepearl! No congrats yet for us for CIM...This is one of the few schools that did not require a prescreening for flute! ;) We have been there, d loved it when she auditioned for the joint program with Case. We all really liked the Cleveland area.

Congratulations. My D is a freshman at CIM and loves the school. I remember her audition last January when we woke up at the hotel to 6 inches of snow. On a good note the audition day was the best organized out of the 7 schools she auditioned at. They even provided lunch for us. She was made to feel very comfortable at the audition and it sold her on the school. Good luck.

hey allmusic

DD college counselor told me yesterday that she knew of one school that had 16 unopened bags of mail earlier in the week they hadn't had time to look at..... I'm a nurse..(pretty stessful job)....right now I wouldn't trade it with those admission people!

Last year the date of letting kids know if they passed prescreen kept getting pushed back at Purchase. They were overwhelmed by applications and seemed unprepared for it.

DS got invited back to Oberlin for Early Review Audition, which we went to last weekend.
He is a baritone.

Prescreening got accepted at NYU although I won't be auditioning since I got into Columbia ED

I hate pre-screening...

Hey, congratulations dhalp!!! Will you be playing music at Columbia?

Thanks SJTH! I'm definitely going to be doing the Jazz Performance Concentration at Columbia.
I may apply to the Juilliard Exchange next year, although I'll see how lessons go with the Columbia faculty first. I didn't apply this year because I really wasn't expecting to get into Columbia.
I'm sorry if this is off topic, but does anyone know how easy it would be to take lessons with faculty at Manhattan if you are at Columbia? I know that there is some weird thing between the two schools since they do an exchange with Barnard but not Columbia.

That's because Columbia is supposed to have the interchange with Julliard. You can perhaps see about private lessons with MSM teachers. MSM is always working on having a relationship with Columbia like NEC/Harvard and Tufts, but I don't know what the problem is.

So far daughter has been accepted for auditions at Roosevelt CCPA (no- prescreening) and was just notified today (email)that she passed pre-screening round for San Francisco Conservatory of Music....She is going for BM Vocal Performance....Still waiting to hear on the rest

Passed pre-screening at Rice; that's all so far.

I think Oberlin's vocal prescreens are being sent tomorrow. So I heard...

DD heard from IU-Jacobs today and auditions Jan 16th, previously heard from CCPA-Roosevelt and San Francisco Conserv....has those auditions in Feb....so far 3 for 3...still waiting on 5 more

My daughter will be at IU on Jan. 16 (violin) and also heard today that she passed the prescreen for Mannes! No specific date yet for the Mannes audition.

hey, has anyone heard back from nec yet? I sent a prescreen there, but haven't heard anything yet (although I did mail my cd on dec. 1, the last possible day)

Nothing from NEC or BoCo yet for us....there is a trench to the mailbox!

A lot of schools take off through New Year's.... so the mailboxes may start filling up again after 1/1... good luck!
