Pre-Screens- Has anyone heard?

May I ask you, frazzled35, how long after submitting the Shenandoah pre-screen, did you hear from them? And did the “yes” come via e-mail, phone call or snail mail? And oh, congrats on passing the pre-screen!

For the record: Submitted pre-screens to Ithaca on 10/14, requested Chicago Unifieds, have not heard back yet.

BethsMom-We submitted prescreen on September 25th and received email notification on November 12th. We got something in the mail about a week later. I hope that helps! We called to request our audition date later (1/18).

Thanks so much frazzled35! My daughter submitted her pre-screen last week.

iammtmom - Arn’t Rider, BW and PPU all rolling admissions? Wondering why the decisions won’t be sent until March/April?

MTMAJORCOOK- We were told by Rider this weekend they may accept some before March, but they like to see everyone before compiling acceptance list. BW- hmmmm I could be wrong but I thought they said March too. PPU is the only one you are correct about, they really did not say when but it seemed to be sooner than the others, I just assume that PPU will notify sometime BEFORE March.

Of course this is all Artistic acceptances, not academic we are talking about.

Gotcha thanks! At the on campus auditions last week BW stated mid December. I was hoping nothing changed. I scheduled some of the schools earlier because of RA now it doesn’t seem to matter much.

MTMAJOR- I just looked at my notes…and you are correct BW will notify by Dec. 12 if all is complete - (academic and artistic file)
However, I understood that some may get a deferred decision…

My son submitted Shenandoah Nov 6 and has not heard.

iammtmom, I am seriously impressed by how many live auditions your D has already done! WTG!
My D and I will be at Tx State on January 11 too, I’m sure we will see each other (D will be in the red dress, I will be the one looking nervous).

LOL @ cellomom, that would also describe my S and me minus the red dress.

Cellomom, looking back so am I!! We both are exhausted from all the travel.
I just want this over with!!! See you in San Marcos.
My D’s spring musical is in Feb. and she is terrified of her Drama teacher.
We scheduled everything we could before Thanksgiving.

My D’s spring musical is in March but she was only able to get 3 auditions in during the Fall.

Most of her rehearsals are not on Fridays so that is the day she is going to miss most in January and February for the rest of her auditions. She hopes her drama teacher understands (there are 3 other MT girls in the musical also doing the audition thing so she is going to have to understand…)

iammtmom-in most cases if it is a rejection you will hear in two weeks-otherwise yes most of them wait until March-many until the bitter end. Elon is usually the week after their last scheduled audition, CMU came two weeks after their last audition. I noticed webster is on your list and they don’t mail out answers until the 31st of March. Last year Ithaca for us was very last and Syracuse the the second week on April. I guess the positive way to look at it is you are still in the running if you didn’t get an outright rejection. My D also did better with live pre-screens vs video. She is so glad to have done hers last year because so many more have added video pre-screens

braodway95 - thank you so much. we will be waiting. Where did your daughter end up?
It’s always so nice to hear from veteran parents of this crazy process.

iammtmom-she ended up with 4 to choose from and picked Nebraska Wesleyan. She loves it there. One of the things that she really liked about them was the amount of shows and opportunities they have to perform. They do 10-14 mainstage shows and about 30 student directed shows. It seems like she is auditioning and going to shows every couple of weeks. They audition for shows right away and many freshman get to perform in the mainstage shows as well as student directed. She also has had the opportunity to work with a guest choreograher from NYC.

I remember how hard all the waiting was. By this time next year they will be where they are meant to be doing what they love and you can look back and appreciate the time you got to spend with them while they were pursuing their dream. Enjoy the ride!

My son passed Texas State and is going to the callback. Yay!

WTG S of redscorpion6!

Congrats rescorpion6!

For those asking, we were told we’d hear in 3 weeks and that is exactly how long it took! We received an email telling us the number to call to schedule the audition and then a letter arrived after. Spoke with Ithaca today…was told they are viewing pre-screens in order of audition dates. Everyone should know no later than January 10th…with the possibility of earlier.
