Pre-Screens- Has anyone heard?

Congrats ingramt on Shenandoah!

Ithaca email came this afternoon–it’s a yes for my D! Hooray!
She submitted her prescreen vid 10/14 and requested Chicago Unifieds.

Can’t keep up with all the good news on Pre-screens, so a big Congratulations to all!!!

Ithaca in for us too :)

Way to go everyone!!

Ithaca a yes for us too - finally!!! Woo hoo!

Raam1012 Congrats!

Who is still waiting on prescreens and from which school?

S is waiting for Mich, just submitted yesterday so we have a few weeks. He decided to withdraw app to Ithaca so we aren’t submitting that one.

My S heard yes from Shenandoah yesterday.

The Daughter finally uploaded prescreens this week! WOOHOOOOO!!! That is all to report at this time…

WTG GSOMTMom! You must be happy to have that hurdle passed, I’m sure lots of great yeas will be flowing you was soon!

Thanks, cellomom!!

One prescreen passed - TX State MT! More WOOOHOOOOO’s!!

Congrats to all on their passed pre-screens. My son, unfortunately, has not had great success with his-- He submitted 6 and heard 2 Yes’s and 4 No’s. Needless to say, when the last 2 Nos came in on Monday, it sent me into a tailspin. (He didn’t seem too affected, and good for him!) I licked my wounds, got some words of inspiration from other MT moms and moved on. (I’m making it sound like I’M the one going to school…yikes…I need to get a life. But I think all of you CCers know where I’m coming from…) An academic acceptance came in the mail today-- so that was a good perk-up!

And so, he crossed those schools off the list, and has 3 on-campus auditions and 7 more at Chicago Unifieds to look forward to. He’s a personable young man and shows himself off better in person then on video, anyway.

Wow, SU88BFA, sorry to hear about the no’s, but glad that your son is taking it all in stride. A rejection of our babies is personal to US and I believe that’s why we take it so hard. As everyone here says, he will end up where he’s supposed to be; all of our kids will. And if not, who’s in for a crazy fun night of tire slashing?!! (I kid…I kid…sorta. LOLOL)

SU88BFA - You have a great attitude, and I heartily agree with you in that I think my son would do better live than on video (I’ll find out after his first audition on Dec. 7th!). My son is applying to three schools with pre-screens. It is slow going and only one was sent and it was a yes, but the next two could easily be a no. As I’ve learned on CC, there are a myriad of reasons, but as I try to explain to my husband (he’ll be the Dad at Chicago Unifieds furiously playing “Candy Crush Saga” on his cell phone!!) a school may not be looking for a tall brawny tenor/bass character actor and will know they will give him the dreaded “No” before the poor guy even starts singing his first song.

Good attitude SU88BFA! I’m sure you will support your son throughout this difficult process. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, we parents seem to take any bad news for our children much harder than the kids themselves take the bad news. All part of the good news/bad news that makes up the theater world many of them have been part of for years and want to be part of for many more.
Break a leg to your son (and you, lol) during his upcoming live auditions!

SU88BFA I totally understand believe me, I am way more worked up about the auditions than my S is. Don’t be hard on yourself (you said you need to get a life) its much different than any other college application process and its overwhelming. Its great your S has a good prospective and is moving forward!

Great news GSOMTMom! That was a quick yes, hope all the others are similarly fast and positive!

Will your D be at Chicago unifieds for Tx St or are you heading out west too?

MTMajorCook—Point Park COPA is no longer rolling admissions. Those who audition thru early December will get a decision by late December. All others auditioning are notified towards the end of March. This change took effect last year. Academic acceptances for the university remain rolling.

Thank you, cellomom!! She planned on Chicago, but I decided that she should head to the school to see the campus which everyone says is beautiful. Her prescreen was live last week. When she uploaded the videos upon our return, she got the decision. Very quick and I appreciate that!

Congrats and good luck GSOMTMom!
