Pre-vet in cal poly pomona

I am going to go to CPP for the class of Fall 2010 and I want to be a veterinarian.
I am worried it will take me a long time to finish my BS and even my GE because of the budget cuts and all.
What is your opinion on this?
Do you think I will be able to finish in four years? and go to graduate school?

My pre-vet daughter will be attending Cal Poly Pomona in the fall. During our campus tour it was mentioned that they have a program for freshman that will guarantee graduation in 4 years. It’s a contract you sign stating that you will take a set number of classes and they will guarantee that you’ll get the classes you need.

I think if you closely monitor your program, don’t restrict yourself by refusing to take classes at less-than-desirable times, don’t change your major, you’ll be fine.

Will you be coming in with any AP credits? If so, that can also help.

You can also help yourself if you take a General Ed class or two over the summer at the local CC (make sure you pick courses that will count). That can help “free up” your schedule for your other classes.

Okay
thank you both!
I am going in with some AP credits for Biology, Calc, and USH
