Very good point. Also, what’s with “Id retake the SAT and get a 2200” as if someone can just get a 2200 because they feel like it.

@Maynard, people need motivation to achieve. If I can help them achieve greater by giving them motivation ill do it. As far as duke goes that was my bad, I forgot they were private.

Also you have 4 or 5 chances to take SAT, If OP already has such a high SAT is it really so much for them to reach for 2200 with a few weeks of studying?

Alright guys, getting back to the purpose of this thread, any other opinions? Keep in mind that I have already submitted all applications so any advice would be useless to me.

Notre dame match
duke low reach
cornell low reach
northwestern high match
penn low reach
usc match
vanderbilt high match
wustl high match
whitman match

Bump. Also I am sending Duke a detailed update on my research in a letter, I just had a great interview with and alumni (not that that helps much), and I am getting a 4.0 this semester.

Not sure why everyone is saying Northwestern-accept with a Duke and Cornell rejection. You guys DO know that Northwestern has a significantly lower (4%) acceptance rate than Duke or Cornell. That is the problem with this site. Kids get these ideas about certain schools (USC, Northwestern, Vanderbilt), which are not Ivy League level but are certainly difficult to gain acceptance. Sometimes the difficulty of the Ivy League overshadows these other schools. You will know your chances when you apply and get responses. These threads should not change your mind in applying to any school.

@statlanta I totally agree with you. I take that into account when reading these. I already applied and personally believe I will only get into Whitman and USC out of the schools I listed. I just wanted to hear other opinions.
