@ndabunka

I never applied to WSU or UNC.

For the record, here are my predictions (I tend to be overoptimistic with myself- I was completely expecting to open Duke’s portal and celebrate, but I didn’t even get a deferral):

Richmond- Accept
Vanderbilt- Accept- I am going out on a limb here, but sometimes reaches work out.
Wharton- Reject
Tulane- Accept
Davidson- Reject (I bombed the books essay, as I don’t read books much outside of the classroom)
Oklahoma- Accept
Drexel- Accept
Miami- Accept
Bucknell- Accept
South Carolina- Accept (I figure that they will try to find a way with my stats, though it is far from certain)
Kentucky- Accept
Rhodes- Accept
Baylor- Accept
F&M- Reject (interest sensitivity and a gut feeling that a safety will deny me)

Georgia Institute of Technology
University of Georgia
Emory University
Boston University
Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Princeton University
Oxford College

The careers, which I intend to pursue are either Computer Science/Computer programming,Engineering,Finance,Business Administration,or Accounting.

I want to say how worried I really am.

As a freshmen,I had honors 9th lit,Biology, honors American government, regular math one(though, teacher i had strongly wanted me out of her class to be in advanced but sadly, did not take opportunity.)

I did not pass AP exam for AP world sadly. In fact,no one in school dude with exception of a friend who only got a 3.I did passed the class with a 90 at end of school year.

As a sophomore,I decided to boost things up.Only had one AP, honors physical science, and honors lit.

However,as a sophomore I got into dual enrollment at a local technical college and thanks to getting into Dean’s list/special permission, I got into a course called Pharmacy Assistant that gave the most credits out of the other classes offered. This course level is a Junior/Senior only level.I passed/graduated from the program in the 2012-2013 school year as the first and only sophomore with a 3.6ish GPA with mostly All A’s and 1-2 B’s.

This year,a current Junior, I have 3 AP classes(AP Lang and Comp,AP US history,AP Psych.).School still new so there are more honors classes than AP.

I currently am in Future Business Leaders of America, National Honor Society, National Society of High School scholars. Due to financial issues, this as far as many organizations I can do.

Money is very tight right now for family, probably for many people nowadays and my only hope is pretty much scholarships and without a good scholarship, I don’t have much chance of being in College.

I tried finding some scholarships and some websites but many websites are visit are of no good.

I plan to do SAT,ACT,SAT subject test probably this year and I am worried.

I have been drilled into mind how SAT matters a lot in admission and scholarships and how I HAVE to do good in it or the colleges I want to go to won’t bother to give me a chance.

There’s so much to say and I’m sorry for venting in wrong thread(If I am) but,

I am just unsure right now if I’m doing good or building up a good background for college or if I’m on the right track.

Can anyone chance me and/or tell me if I’m on right track and in good standing for colleges I want to go to?

I’m leaning more to GA Tech and UGA.

Also my current rank is class rank 31 of 401.

What percentage does that put me in/percentile?

Current GPA is (eek) 3.62

No need to continue chancing at Baylor. I have been accepted.

Richmond: Accept
Vanderbilt: Deferred
Penn (Wharton): Reject
Davidson: Accept
Tulane: Accept
Oklahoma: Accept
Drexel: not sure
Bucknell: Accept
Miami: Accept
South Carolina: Accept
Rhodes: Accept
Baylor: Accept
Kentucky: Accept
Franklin & Marshall: Don’t know much about this school.

Vanderbilt and Penn are the tough ones really. You have stellar stats besides your GPA, which will unfortunately have a negative impact on your chances to the two. Best of luck!

Tulane likes community involvement, and requires a community project for graduation. If you have little activity in that area, they might be hesitant.

All the state schools are slam dunks. You will get accepted (even out of state) unless you made some kind of mistake on the application.

Avoid Drexel and Bucknell – for different reasons. Drexel is a private school and probably the weakest school on your list. Bucknell is flaming liberal, and I saw on the Tulane thread that you are conservative. You would hate Bucknell.

Rhodes will take you, and you should consider it. Same with Vandy.

Davidson likely will accept you and, personally, I would take it. They are committed to no student debt. One of the best LACs in the South.

No need to keep chancing for Oklahoma and Kentucky- ACCEPTED!

Those of you who said accepted for Tulane are right.

Congratulations
chance me?

Tulane: waitlist
Oklahoma: accept
Drexel: accept
Bucknell: accept
Miami: accept
South Carolina: accept
Rhodes: either accept or waitlist

@collegebound752

Thanks for your predictions, but I have already heard from several of them. You were only wrong on Tulane (accepted).

Oh congrats! @survivorfan :D/

For those playing the game, I have now been accepted at Alabama, Baylor, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Tulane, Drexel, South Carolina, and Miami.

To give the results of the game:

@tanboyrunfast wins predicting all 13 schools correctly.

Common Mistakes:
Davidson- I was waitlisted, but I really didn’t care by the time it came around
Vandy- ACCEPTED and attending (some credit to those who said waitlist, as that was initially true)
Tulane- Accepted- I think people read too much into the deferral.

In short:
Rejected: Wharton (plus Duke before the game started)
Waitlisted: Davidson
Accepted: Everywhere else
