What weight, if any, do predicted IB scores have on USA college admissions, specifically at the top 20 universities.

For the past two years teachers at my school had much higher expectations of the students than the actual performance on the test, resulting in high predicted scores and relatively low actual scores. I'm afraid some teachers will be extra harsh for my class to play it safe, perhaps too low.

I know this is important to UK, but to what extent do predictive scores affect admission in the USA?

Thanks for asking. I’d like to know the answer to this, too.

Your predicted scores are sent with your mid-year reports, and I think they do play a role in your admission decision. However when it comes to FINAL IB scores, it can vary form school to school. For example, where I’m going (Wesleyan University) my IB credits/scores are non-transferrable because it’s recommended to take introductory classes there. So in essence, I should not have taken the diploma but taken many IB classes -____-. I guess as long as you don’t FAIL the IB you’ll be fine (I got 5 points below my predicted total), but otherwise your final IB scores really only count for credit.
