Any advice on getting into Ross School of business as a freshmen? I realize it is quite competitive and combination of GPA, ACT's, EC's, rigorous courses in HS and rec's must be very important.

Anyone get in as a freshmen to Ross School of Business and what were key factor in your success?

BBA - Stephen M. Ross School of Business

Hey, I was a preferred admit to Ross. Here's some info about me:

I was valedictorian of my high school (class size about 330), I was very active (sports, leadership, volunteer work, etc.), I won a few national marketing competitions through BPA, my standardized test scores were pretty good (national merit scholar), and I dual enrolled at a local university for classes while still in high school.

I would say a key factor in my success was the fact that I had a background in business already and was able to convey to the admissions people that I had a true interest in pursuing marketing. It's not necessary to have that same background, but be able to show that you know what you want. Be enthusiastic and show that you want to learn about business. I have a friend whose essay was about how she used to hustle her fellow classmates back in the first grade - it was a creative way to show her entrepreneurial spirit.

For the preferred admit essay to Ross, can we use the same essay as we wrote for what we want to study. The question seems redundant and if they are two seperate comittees, would this be do-able?

If not, how would I write one opposed to the other. I don't see much of a difference.
