is premed at emory very competitive? why is it hard to get good grades for people who are doing premed? and one more question: what exactly is premed? does it require a major in science? or can I premed and still major in something non-science?

sorry but I am a little confused,

thanks for answering them in advance :)

You can major in anything you want to major in--your major does not have to be in a science field. There is just a sequence of courses that you must take (calculus, bio, chem etc.) Pre-med at Emory is not any more or less competitive than anywhere else, just like everywhere else, the courses themselves are demanding and taught at a very high standard (my son is not pre-med and never has been--he hates math and science--but one of his roomates is pre-med and has done very well).

thanks for the info :)
