Hey everyone! I’m super pumped to attend UVA in the fall, but now I have to really start thinking about what I want to do. I love science/ medicine, but I also love business. This sounds like a stretch, but is doing premed at McIntire possible? I know there are pre-comm courses and pre-med courses I have to think about, but is it possible? or I have to pick one?

You can’t apply to Mcintire until the middle of sophomore year. Speak to an advisor and see how how many of the requirements can be applied to both. My guess is the general business and 2 accounting classes definitely could not be applied to premed unless they were free electives. Definitely worth a phone call. Also depends on how many AP credits you are coming in with. Could open up your schedule a little bit. I guess if you don’t get into Mcintire you would have a backup plan . The pre-med courses are right on the website. No need to call, just google. It would be ambitious to fit all those courses and McIntire into your plan. The science work obviously isn’t going to overlap with McIntire courses.
Keep in mind that there is a post-bac program you can use to get the pre-med courses done. You can read about that on the website as well.
