I'm just wondering if anybody heard of or tried this program: http://www.islonline.org/dental/ . Would a program like this help me get into dental/med school?

Definitely would not help to get into medical school. It has nothing to do with medicine.

How does this have nothing to do with medicine? Explain

well, because it's a dental program

oops heres the link http://www.islonline.org/, it has more programs too. And btw, dentistry is medicine. If you say that you want a career in medicine, this includes dentists, optometrists, pharmacists etc. so by saying that this has nothing to do with medicine would be incorrect.

But you go to dental school, which is by no means easy but still different from medical school.

I don't know how good this program is. Try a Google search on it. Based off the web site design, it doesn't look to be too important though.

I really hate to get into a debate , but when someone refers to going into medicine they are discussing becoming an MD or DO. When someone states they are going into healthcare this means that they are going into the various fields: dentistry, chiropractor, nurse, x-ray rech etc. This does not mean that other fields are inferior but different.

Anybody know any good programs for college students that pre-med/pre-dental students could apply to?

The obvious question you'll be asked after doing this program is why you're applying to med school instead of dental school.

don't just blow thousands of dollars for some program that "may" look good on your application. do it if you are seriously interested in international humanitarianism because there are DEFINITELY other ways of getting volunteering/clinical experience without spending that kind of money.

also, i don't think it really matters what you do (dental, medical, teaching, etc.) because the point is volunteerism. it would be better if it was specifically medical.

how do you find international humanitarian programs without spending at least a thousand dollars? All of the ones I looked at want you to pay for all your stuff, like housing food, travel, so it's quite expensive.
I really want to do it but I don't have that kind of money.

^there are ways to get funding. for example, if you're religious, try and get your church to help out. you could also fundraise. *most places you go, there will be AT LEAST air-fare and housing cost so it will be expensive.
