I want to become a pediatrician when I grow up. I'm looking to apply at Rice next year, and I was wondering how the premed program is over there? Can someone inform me on it? Also how well does well are their business majors? Thanks for the help.

Rice is one of a few schools where every one of their programs is top notch, they dont stand out too much in anything. Instead, they are strong in all their departments :)

This is from someone who doesn’t go to Rice(yet :P): Rice’s pre-med program is arguably one of the best in the nation. They are located right next to the Texas Medical Center; clinical and research experiences are easily available.

Were you thinking of applying the the Rice/Baylor BS/MD program? I have heard it is INCREDIBLY hard to get into, but it is probably the best dual degree program in the nation.

I have no clue on the business program

ahhh i want to do buisness, but rice doesnt have a typical buisness degree. they have majors like mathmatical encomic analysis and manjerial studies(which is a minor sort of)…but maybe rice does good buisness internships? idk anyone know anything else?

The Rice-Baylor program (look it up) is probably the most prestigious pre med program in the country. Although it is just starting, and VERY limited space, this one will attract alot of the nations top pre med students.

Cocoaluna: although rice does not have a business program per say, Houston is one of the best places in the country for business internships, and a major in economics will prepare you for any MBA program/going into the business world

@ OP: Just to give clarify what a big deal the Texas Medical Center is… it is the WORLD’S LARGEST medical center… literally right next to campus. 2 med schools, 8-9 hospitals, tons of research labs, so you shouldn’t have trouble finding shadowing or research experiences at Rice.
