premed roommate?

i'm gonna be a freshman this fall, and i found out that my roommate is also premed, who might possibly major in bio. (like me). will this end up being more stressful, or more cooperative and effective? any thoughts?

Well, I am premed and there was another premed in my apartment, but we weren't room roommates. Turns out she was my favorite roommate out of all of them. We were able to go to our premed seminar together and we took a lot of the same courses (but at different times) so we could study together or if we took the course a different semester use each other's books instead of buying our own. I'd say it's definitely a good thing, unless the person is uptight and not nice or something. :)

saphiraxx: From personal experience, I would have loved to have a pre-med roommate. I had three other people in my suite that were all humanities majors, took all English/history/political theory type classes, stayed up late, got up late, but still did pretty well. My pre-med friends were essential in helping me get the grades I wanted (of course, I put in the work as well), and in some sense, it was a real bonding experience.

Think as far as that variable alone, it will be good. Both of you will have demanding schedules and rigorous classes. Therefore you won't be in the situation of being the one studying while the other begs you to go out and do something or is just generally distracting because they aren't under the same pressures.
