Attention Pre-Med Students:
This is to inform you that the UMC Shadowing application is now live on our Prehealth website under the Announcements section! If you are interested in shadowing with UMC in the Spring please go online and fill out the shadowing application. You can access the application here http://prehealth.ua.edu/announcements/umc-shadowing-application-available/ . The deadline to apply is August 27th at 4pm. Sophomores and Juniors will be given priority.
Students are required to have a CURRENT TB test prior to the start of their shadowing experience. Most facilities in our area require that you have a current TB test, so even if you are not selected for this program, this can be used for other facilities. You can obtain a TB test at the Student Health Center or any medical facility in the area.
Please indicate all blocks of time you are available to shadow. You must be available from 8:30 – 12:00 or 1:30 – 5:00. You will be placed in a University Medical Center clinic one morning or one afternoon a week based on your and the clinic’s schedule. You may leave up to 30 minutes early if you have a class conflict, but you must be available at the start of the clinic and must shadow for at least 3 hours.
