So is anyone else freaking out about what to wear?

I was thinking that it would be nice for current students, former students and parents to share a bit of there knowledge on the popular fashion on campus. Anything about Deerfield would be a major plus. Thanks! And to anyone getting ready for the fall, I hope you're excited. See ya later.

Many schools–though I can’t find one for Deerfield–have tumblr blogs with lots of pics of kids that other prep school kids consider to be well dressed. Here’s a link to the faq’s on Exeter’s, which lists the names of several other schools’ blogs/galleries. Have fun!

Girls wear lots of dresses, so solid and patterned are probably a god idea. In the winter, people stick to cords and a sweater because we’re ver focused on being warm Be sure to have lots of cardigans, or at the very least a staple navy, black, and a white one. Colored pants are also a must for those days when you just don’t feel like putting in the effort.

But more than anything be comfortable in what you’re wearing. Don’t change your style based upon what others are wearing…if you’re not a dress sort of person, wear your pants with pride. Basically–embrace your personal style.

Peddie Vogue (Facebook)

You can get some inspiration there, of course In a school with no/little dresscode you can baiscally use whatever you want.

@london203, I hate uniformes, In Mexico we use them too, but now that I’m moving to NMH and i’m having BoardingSchool-FashionCrisis well, I think uniforms would be much easier too :/

Some of the things that come to mind in terms of popular brand name choices:
-Hunter rain boots
-Bean boots (from LL Bean)
-Barbour jackets
-Longchamp bags
-Free People sweaters

I know these are pricey brands and certainly not everyone has them, they are just some of the more prominent ones among the girls.
