Preparation for Math II

My daughter took a CB practice test with no prep at all and scored a 660, 31 raw score after penalty. She omitted 10 questions, and had 7 errors. She is in Precalc now (not honors). I need help to determine:

can she study and get a 750? OR

should she consider the Math I with the harsher curve?

what books would you recommend for Math II?

She is not going into Engineering, but from looking at these boards it looks like the majority of the candidates applying to the top schools are taking the SAT II regardless of major.

Any help with this will be greatly appreciated!

yes, anyone can study and get a 750.

um, well, I recommend that she take a practice Math I test as well, but if she's in precalculus she should be able to do well on the math II. Math I is more like algebra, and Math II is more precalculus, so taking the Math II corresponds more closely to the level of math she's in right now.

the math textbook she's using right now is great.

I think many people take the SAT II regardless of major, because a lot of top schools require that everyone take two or three, or at least it's highly recommended.

Thanks, dchow08. What book would you recommend for SAT II? I hear Barrons and PR the most often here on CC. If the SAT II is more precalc, then she should take the SAT II now.

Any other study tips would be greatly appreciated.
