Hello, I am currently a sophomore in high school with a pretty average Gpa. I need to do well my junior year to give my Gpa the boost I need for college. My family will not be going on any vacation this summer, so I would like to study for my classes ahead of time instead of letting another 3 months go to waste. I am trying to look for books that focus more on the core subject than the AP exam for these classes:

AP US history
AP Physics
AP Chem
AP English II
Honors Pre-cal

Any advice is appreciated.

One thing you can do is to contact your school/teachers and find out what textbooks your school will be using in the upcoming year for AP and get that book. That way you’re learning what your school will specifically be teaching. Or you could also self-study or take classes on the subjects in general.

I don’t really know that many specific books but for Honors Pre-Cal, AOPS is usually pretty solid for anything math-related. Good luck!

I’m taking all of those classes now so I can lend some advice.

APUSH- Review the first couple of chapters so when you go to class, you are ready to go
AP Physics- Try to understand the basics of physics because the whole class revolves around the fundamentals
AP Chem- Review chem notes and try to understand the material<— Hardest Class
AP English- Read some literature and get the feel for it. Also practice writing and vocabulary
Honors Pre-Calc- This class is kinda hard but once you understand it, you’re good for the whole year. Just go over algebra and geometry, I guess.
