Prepped for Old SAT and did just fine on new PSAT?

I am curious to know if students who prepped for the Old SAT did fine on the new PSAT without specifically studying for the new test. So you didn’t use Khan Academy or the new aqua blue book, but you still got a high score? Thanks.

D is taking the old SAT this Saturday and spent a couple of months prepping with the old blue book. I am wondering if this prep time will help if she needs to take the new SAT in the Spring.

I would agree with that. Good testing skills with any test will help.
I remember reading students posting that they had prepped for ACT and it was helpful. So for new SAT, ACT prep might be more helpful than Old SAT prep.

I actually did better on the PSAT than the November SAT I took and studied weeks for :))

It’s mostly the same skills, and the differences won’t matter to every test-taker, depending on his or her existing knowledge and experience.

Yeah, I scored a 1430 on the PSAT – didn’t study at all and 2300 on old SAT (superscored).

Yup. 2350 on the old SAT and 1500 on PSAT, which I didn’t study for.

DS did worse a little worse on the PSAT however you have to remember that the old SAT has a essay while the PSAT doesn’t. So that could have been the difference for him.

Yeah my score on the new PSAT math section was significantly better than the old SAT math section and I barely did any prep for the new PSAT
