preppiest colleges

what are the preppiest colleges? by preppy i mean wealthy kids, elite, prep schoolers, polos, popped collars, etc.

I would think some of the top LAC's and Princeton.

Southern schools. While a lot of Yankees think Pton is really preppy, come to UGA, University of South carolina, Clemson, UT-Austin, and Bama to see some real preps.

I've never seen popped collars until I came to the east coast. frickin dorks :D

I don't know for sure, but have heard that that these schools are big on prep factor: Bucknell, Princeton, Washington and Lee, Davidson.

I know the South is full of white, collar popping, small town folks. These southerners are collar popping individuals who believe they have all the money in the world. It's just that their small town lifestyle where they believe is full of money is nothing when it comes to the big boy's in the Northeast and the player's out in California.

Some real preppy schools that come to mind Trinity College in Connecticut known for having its fair share of preppy kids. Unfortunately, it is in the ghetto so there really is nothing to do or any real way to falunt the wealth.

A lot of schools in Boston are known for having many preppy students. Babson, BC, BU etc.. are some that come to mind of having a large amount.

The Ivies because they have such a big ego problem its hilarious. They think they are better then the rest of the world. They will think otherwise shortly upon hitting the real world.

Georgetown has a large collar popping population.

Dunkaroo- I don't even know where to begin. First of all, your post proves that you are a complete idiot and know nothing about the south. Southerners do not necessarily come from small towns, just as Northeasterners or Californians don't always live in big cities. Obviously you haven't ever been to Atlanta or Savanah, because you would know exactly how filthy rich some of these people are. It's not like being preppy is something elitist or snobby. Wearing nice clothes and taking care of yourself doesn't make you snotty or arrogant. In fact, most southerners are FAR nicer and much more outgoing than the average northerner, regardless of how much money they have. The rich down here have no problem eating at The Waffle House or Mcdonalds, simply because people don't limit themselves to classes here or act "above" others.

And I dress preppy, which I think a lot better than sagging clothes or crap like that.

And some of the richest families out there are southern. God, in the town I grew up in, it was amazing how big of houses people had(with servants, kinda like a plantation LOL). They had ivy and MIT degrees, but didn't hold it above people. They had no problem deer hunting with an average farmer or the president. It just doesn't matter down here.

I just wanted to clear up an unfair assessment of the south.

The president?

The richest family in the US is from Arkansas.

r u talking bout bill gates? because he is the richest person in the world, but i dont know if he is FROM arkansas, but he LIVES in washington

Richest family in the world is Sam Waltons family (he founded Wal-Mart).

On the subject of polo shirts, perhaps princeton, top LACs, etc. are just more fashionable. A good polo fits in at any school, but it seems to be only the kids with high GPAs and SATs that figure that out.

Or I guess it could be preppiness.

Cangel is probably talking about the Wal Mart Family; I forget their name.

I think cangel meant the Walton family, which owns Walmart. Individually, each sibling isn't as wealthy as Gates, but as a family, I'm pretty sure they're #1.

Edit: right. a bit late with that. sorry.

Georgetown is very preppy.

Of course cangel is refering to the Waltons, Nickleby nailed it. I remember seeing a list of the world's richest people and there is a list of Waltons starting around the #4 place that is several people long, all worth 20 billion(US dollars for you international types).

About preppiness, I think all colleges have at least a small preppy population. Generally, it is safe to say the more elite schools(Georgetown, Princeton, Stanford), regardless of location, will tend to have more preppy people due to the image those top schools cultivate.

The President=Jimmy Carter(from Georgia)

kinda like a plantation LOL

... OH THANK GOD I am not from the South.

I've heard Duke has a serious popped-collar problem.

Villanova is very preppy, it's in a wealthy area of PA.
