IMO nothing touches Lehigh. And it's at least half Greek.

Why is everyone so condescending towards the south? Geez. Y'all are a bunch of Yankee snoots.

Boston College is supposed to be very preppy

I hate popped collars.

Popped collars at my school died out. Fast.

Now, if only the amateur poseur scene would go too...

I went up north and visited the south, and the people there are generally friendly. A lot friendlier than Floridians. I didn't see masses of preps. It was basically the same percentage as the west and in Florida. I've never been up to the northeast, so I can't compare.

"Why is everyone so condescending towards the south? Geez. Y'all are a bunch of Yankee snoots."

You know, the Civil War was over a long time ago.

Trinity is ultra preppy even thought it is in the ghetto. I went to the multicultural open house and even all of the Black and hispanics went to private schools or prep schools, I was like only one of the few public school kids.

"You know, the Civil War was over a long time ago."

Thanks for letting me know. I got a 5 on the AP US history exam, but I must have skipped over that.

And people ARE so much nicer down here. Up north, it is so impersonal and mean. Down here, people actually open doors for girls, wear nice clothes, and respect adults. How horrible!

yeah but I feel bad for the kids who go Trinity. They are so preppy but the school is in such a bad area that you really can't go anywhere flaunting the wealth or popping the collar.

Schools in Boston have an incredibly high amount of preppy kids as well ( I think its the old northeast thing). BC comes to mind as does BU. BU is more of the international prep crowd as is Babson. All these schools have just about all of their student population from private schools or prep schools. With the exception of BU as it is extremely large.

Well, I reminded you of that because, being a Northerner, I don't personally have anything against southerners (other than the electoral votes they threw to bush). Yet, you seem to harbor some kind of indignant rage toward those who live in the north.

Yeah but the south has that rebel attitude. You don't come up here to the northeast seeing Confederate flags anywhere. It is a fact that people in the south are generaly nice then those in the northeast but the south has that laid back attitude while keeping up with the whole Confederate deal which ticks off some northerners.

Well, I like most Yankees, just not the obnoxious ones who speak to southerners condescendingly and rudely simply because of their accent or background. And I didn't vote for Bush, thank-you very much.

I don't, along with many others, agree with the confederate flag. In fact, when our governor decided to change the Georgia flag to something without a confederate flag on it, many supported him. I for one, hate confederate flags, and have grown up around people of color, even though most of them work for me.

Check out Princeton Review's 357 Best Colleges section. Then type in the name of the school. Go to the section "What student's say" about "Student Body"

Look at Villanova, Trinity (CT), Boston College, Babson and a few more you will see what I mean.

yes. bucknell for sure.

I know for BC it said Abercrombie & Fitch and J Crew. Also somewhere that it was a very non diverse place. For Trinity it was a holding pen for preppy pink polo collar popping kids. For Babson people get criticized for not having two cars on campus and the typical student is a kid from an east coast private school or an international who always wears deigner threads. I think all these statements show that these schools are preppy

these aren't the only ones but just examples of what I found. Bucknell is one for sure. Wake Forest would be another, Emory, University of Georgia etc.... (Notice the southern location of these schools but also how there are schools that are preppy in the northeast as well.)

Hi!
I'm from Alaska and we don't have many preps up here. ;-) What's collar popping?
Teressa

i disagree on trinity. the kids i saw all wore american eagle, holister, aeropostale, etc while i visited....

georgetown was by far the most preppy place i visited

when u stick the collar of your shirt up. Its stupid, a girl at my dads work went to Villanova and did that at work and every1 laughed at her lol.

i think you guys mentioned almost every college in america in this thread
