I believe last year they called accepted students and sent an email/updated the portal for “nos” and waitlist

how long did you find out after the audition?
She auditioned the first weekend in February last year, so 3 weeks??? But, I don’t think they make any decisions until after the final auditions.
I have a friend who’s son got an offer from Michigan’s Voice Performance/Popular Music program. I don’t know if that means anything or not.

Hi! Revisiting this conversation months later, I thank you for the wisdom of your words. As you know it is a rough process and my son had some giants ups and downs, but in the end he had multiple BFA/BM MT offers he’s excited about - including Belmont! The clock is really ticking towards decision day, and he’s having a hard time choosing among his top 3. We visited Belmont this weekend and the campus and facilities were mind-blowingly amazing, the MT program sounds great, and we met some students and faculty members who all seemed wonderful. He’d love a little more info on the social life - do you or your daughter have any insights you can share? We can chat offline if that’s better! Thanks again for your support earlier on, I’m glad to be circling back now that we’re just about done with the process!

Sorry! I thought I replied to this DAYS ago!!! That’s great he has options. But, it does make it harder in some ways if you like all your options LOL.
A lot of their time is taken up with rehearsals, etc. Fortunately, she found a great group of friends inside the program that she spent most of her free time with. Music majors at Belmont are able to join sororities and fraternities. My daughter rushed this spring; joined Theta and met some nice girls.
It was a different year with all of the covid restrictions; none of the clubs, sororities, etc were able to meet in person. And, it was just a lot easier to stay inside the “MT bubble” since they were all following the same protocols in order to keep rehearsing, etc in person. My girl is a major social butterfly, and despite all the restrictions she still had a great freshmen year. But, she’s definitely looking forward to the fall where she will get to meet other people outside of MT.
