preseason athletes

did anyone get any sort of verification from housing for preseason athlete arrival?

Contact your coach to confirm that they have a spot for you on the preseason roster, they won't kick you out of housing...

By the by, what sort of cross-country time are you shooting for this season? I assume you're a sprinter, not a distance runner, by the User ID?

I'm not really a sprinter, but I can say I do enjoy running a fast 300 at the end of a distance workout. I'm not going to really think of cross country time goals yet. The 5-mile is a new distance, and it's probably best for me not get my heart set on certain times, but rather, to slowly decipher my potential for the 8k based on the early workouts and races.

hey I am a frosh cross runner too GO RUNNING!!!!! I definaly hear you about the 8k I don't even know what to expect. What kinds of 5k times did you run in high school?

I'm a runner too but still a high school junior... what kind of 1/2/3-mile times do most people on the team have?

roughly 1, 2, and 3 minutes, respectively.

Nice Ben, your runners average sixty miles an hour?? lol

Impressive.

But really, if someone could tell me I'd like to know.

ok first of all the way the team was explained was that the tryout is getting into tech. With that said I have been told there is a wide range. From the times I have heard I will be middle to upper part of varsity and I run a 10:30 2-mile (my PR at lease). My best 5k was 16:59. I don't really know how others on the team do but there are no cuts so anyone can join by the sounds of it.

I went 17:18 for the 5k as a soph. Then a series of unfortunate events lead to poor junior and senior xc seasons.

Cyprus, what kind of summer mileage have you been logging?

Yeah, it's easy to be on the team. I'm not (I fence and formerly played soccer), so I can't really provide times. Mark Eichenlaub's a great person to get in touch with, though.

Those are some legit times. Sorry about your "unfortunate events" 300, I have a lot of friends that busted their knees / back / various parts of the leg and had to quit.

almost makes it more legit if you consider that I basically skipped 7th grade and was of freshman age then....

Nope. Doesn't make it more legit. ;-P jk

I have had a bad summer work went till 7 and made it hard to run because I have thunder storms almost every night. I usually ran 2 times a week and sometimes more. My longest run was about 10 miles so I still have some sort of base. How about you?

i turned in my preseason housing form a while ago and didnt get a reply; craig is right, you have to contact your coach
